Wave has been operating in Thessaloniki since 2018 to support people in meeting their basic needs. We have an open-door policy, where everyone is welcome as a member of our community. Our Community Center is open four days per week, during which people can access:

- a safe space
- one nutritious hot meal and takeaway food
- electricity for charging devices and Wi-Fi
- a Laundry service
- showers
- hygiene products.

Becoming a volunteer with Wave means helping us with all the behind-the-scenes work that allows our services to reach the most vulnerable. Our team activities range from going to markets and warehouses, answering emails, social media take-overs, stock checks, fundraising applications, and of course the basics: cooking, cleaning, chopping vegetables, and distributing food and NFIs. We ask our team members to work for around 8 hours for 4 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) and occasionally attend some extra meetings and training. We are also always trying to accommodate any special request for days-off or holidays planned.

We do **not require any previous experience** working in the field, and we have implemented a beginner friendly approach to the different tasks in the day-to-day activities. Any personal skill or experience are very welcome and help us to develop new ideas and transform or evolve the project. We normally ask for a minimum commitment of 1 month.
This is a **non paid position**. At the same time, unfortunately we are not able to provide accommodation and we expect people to self-fund their staying in the city - we do send a list of resources to help them find accommodation.
