**Job Purpose**

Under the direct supervision of the Protection ٍSenior Officer in Syria, the protection Officer will contribute to the daily planning and implementation of PSEA activities, as well as lead the protection assistant to ensure that PSEA, gender, and protection are mainstreamed into all implemented IYD programs, as well as the ability and experience to provide training on protection related issues to IYD staff in various locations in northwestern Syria.

**Job Purpose**

Under the direct supervision of the Protection ٍSenior Officer in Syria, the protection Officer will contribute to the daily planning and implementation of PSEA activities, as well as lead the protection assistant to ensure that PSEA, gender, and protection are mainstreamed into all implemented IYD programs, as well as the ability and experience to provide training on protection related issues to IYD staff in various locations in northwestern Syria.

He will report to the protection senior officer in Syria.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Work with all the Programs team to ensure that gender and protection mainstreaming principles are applied during all the phases of the project.
2. Provide technical support and supervise the application of protection mainstreaming in the field across different sectors and interventions.
3. Developing and conducting trainings packages for staff and affected communities on protection-related topics.
4. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to applicable timeframes and formats.
5. Ensure the projects target the most vulnerable and most in need beneficiaries, explore and assess new and better ways to assist them.
6. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly narrative reports on protection activities and submit them accordingly to the technical manager.
7. Comply with IYD’s Code of Conduct, program requirements, and operational policies at all times and report any concerns through the appropriate mechanism.
8. Line-manage protection field team staff, including day-to-day management and development.
9. Take a lead role in raising awareness about the IYD’s protection policies and procedures and provide advice to staff, workers, and other representatives of IYD on these matters, ensuring that staff understands their obligation to report a breach of policy.
10. Develop and maintain appropriate communication with the team and other relevant stakeholders.
11. Raise awareness on reporting procedures and occasionally receive reports on Safeguarding issues, responding in accordance with the IYD policies and procedures, proving referral, or next steps advice and support. Make sure all reports are reported to her manager.

**Qualification (Education/Work Experience)**

1. **Essential:**
- A university degree in law, literature, social sciences, psychological) or other related fields.
- At least Four years of relevant job experience.
- Advanced level in English.
2. **Desirable:**
- At least two years of experience working in providing training courses on protection and awareness-raising sessions on related topics.
- At least 3 years of experience in humanitarian work and protection programs with familiarity and commitment to humanitarian standards.
