Description

Responsibilities:

Support

Support the development and implementation of financial management capacity building of staff and DRC´s local partners´ staff.
Provide technical support and advice to the Finance team and local partners teams.
Identify training gaps among finance staff and conduct training sessions.
Financial Planning and Analysis

Develop and prepare budget proposals, including the budgeting of Country Office support costs, in close collaboration with Programme Managers and Support Services functions.
Develop a systematic approach to accounting reviews by creating or strengthening tools that enable the early identification of warning signals, KPI monitoring, and ensure the quality of financial information.
Provide strong and effective budgetary control across country programmes, acting as a Finance Business Partner and liaising with relevant Managers on key financial matters, including co-funding, financial reporting, variance analysis, and corrective actions.
Prepare and update monthly financial analyses based on internal tools, project forecasts, costs to completion, and working capital requirements to assess and present the organization’s financial performance at country level.
In close cooperation with Area and Programme Managers, strengthen financial management and control systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Danish Refugee Council Operations Handbook, internal guidelines, and donor requirements.
Coordinate and prepare all documentation for internal and external financial audits, ensuring the availability, accuracy, and quality of required supporting documentation in close cooperation with teams and HQ focal points.
Prepare and deliver high-quality financial reports to donors in a timely manner, as well as internal financial reporting to management and HQ.
Liaise with relevant Managers on key financial matters affecting country programmes, including co-funding requirements, financial reporting, budget variances, and necessary corrective actions.
Prepare detailed financial implementation analyses for all DRC local partners in Colombia and Latin America.
As Coordinator the post-holder is responsible for the following:

Implements the manager’s decisions through the work of subordinate employees, often playing a role in deciding how to do it; and how to achieve the objective set by the manager.
Provides expert advice and supports the manager to set strategy and assure operational quality and compliance.
Provide overall advice, coordination, and technical support to the Finance team
DRC Dynamics ERP system:

Ensure DRC Dynamics is used to its full capacity.
Ensure proper application of ERP finance processes in the country.
Apply reports and data analytics from ERP system to improve performance in the country.
Ensure that Country ERP support is in place (i.e. super users)"

As a Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the following

Responsible for providing specialized knowledge and operational know-how within a specific discipline.
May also have technical line responsibilities, but generally on technical or operational matters.
Required experience and competencies

Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in financial management of NGOs
Proven experience in budgeting and managing large budgets (multi-year and multi-donor).
Competence in providing technical guidance and training
Proven experience in working with national and international partners, local/government authorities
Experience leading internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation, responding to audit findings, and following up on corrective actions
Working experience with relevant donors (e.g. UNHCR, ECHO, WFP, DFID or WHA guidelines)
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Experience working with an integrated ERP system – MS Dynamics a plus.
Knowledge of Power Bi
Full professional proficiency in English – minimum required B2 according to CEFR

Education:

University degree in finance/accounting, business administration of Economics.
Languages:

Mandatory fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English.
