## **Position Summary**

## **Position Summary**

The Climate Resilience Advisor will play a central role in scaling PIN’s climate resilience portfolio through high-quality programme design, multistakeholder coordination and business development.

This role suits someone who combines strong technical knowledge on climate adaptation with a practical understanding of how to work with all relevant stakeholders, position programmes within national climate frameworks, and articulate clear, compelling value propositions to donors, including philanthropies.

It also involves collecting and sharing appropriate lessons learned, best practices to Country Programs (CPs), providing technical support to country teams, as well as ensuring appropriate coordination with key partners and donors, and representation of PIN in relevant global and regional platforms, networks and with key donors.

**Duty station**: Remote/ Prague

**Travel requirement:** at least 40% to other PIN country programmes or for networking events

## **Reporting Relations & Interdependencies with Other Functions**

The Climate Resilience Advisor reports to the Climate Resilience Strategy Lead. S/he does not have line management responsibilities.

The Climate Resilience Advisor is part of the Climate Resilience team within PIN Program, Strategy and Impact (PSI) Unit, a dynamic team of technical advisors and specialists, focusing on high-quality program development.

In addition to PIN country program teams, the Climate Resilience Advisor cooperates closely with relevant PSI advisors, as well as with the MEAL unit and the Institutional Fundraising Unit.

## **Duties & Responsibilities:**

**Business/ Programme Development**

- Lead, write or review climate resilience proposals targeting institutional donors, philanthropic foundations and climate funds (especially GCF)
- Support consortia building and identify new partnership opportunities for upcoming funding opportunities.
- Engage with philanthropic actors, foundations, and impact-driven funders interested in locally led adaptation and climate resilience
- Develop pitches, strategic narratives, and concept notes tailored to philanthropic audiences.

**Technical Expertise for Climate Resilience Programming**

- Provide technical expertise for designing climate adaptation programmes across diverse contexts and sectors
- Promote and apply locally led adaptation principles, centring community systems, local governments, CSOs, and private sector actors.
- Support Country Programmes in using systemic approaches that consider climate risks, market dynamics, behaviours, ecosystems, and governance linkages.
- Ensure that proposed programmes align with national priorities—NAPs, NDCs, climate strategies, sectoral adaptation plans.
- Contributes and supports as needed to project evaluations, in cooperation with the MEAL unit and CP MEAL teams

**Knowledge Production & Thought Leadership**

- Produce high-quality knowledge products (papers, technical briefs, case studies, business cases, articles) to document and elevate PIN’s climate resilience work.
- Capture lessons learned from existing implementation and use them to strengthen programme design and external positioning.
- Contribute to internal learning on climate resilience, adaptation, program development

**Representation, Networking & International Platforms**

- In coordination with CR Strategy Lead, represent PIN in relevant networks, alliances, working groups, and conferences
- Strengthen PIN’s visibility and credibility as a leader in locally led adaptation and climate resilience programming
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technical partners, research institutions, and peer organisations.

## **Miscelleanous:**

- Contribute to the development of PIN organizational policies and programmatic work by participating in PIN strategic and programmatic discussions, and proactively proposing improvements to PIN’s approaches and strategies;
- Internal coordination with other technical advisors, MEAL, Digital Unit and Communication department
- Perform other tasks as requested by line manager.

## **Requirements:**

- At least 8 years of professional experience in designing and implementing Climate resilience/ adaptation program
- Proven technical expertise in climate resilience and adaptation programming,
- A university degree in a relevant field
- Experience with Green Climate Fund processes, including multistakeholder engagement
- Experience with locally led adaptation and working with local actors (government, CSOs, private sector).
- Understanding of NAPs, NDCs, and key international climate policy frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written products (case studies, business cases, capability statements).
- Experience engaging with philanthropic donors or foundations.
- Strong representation and networking skills; confident in international platforms.
- Experience development climate resilience program in FCAS will be valued
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Excellent spoken and written English
