## **Mission**

Geneva Call is a neutral and impartial non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting respect by Armed Groups and De Facto Authorities (AGDAs) for international humanitarian norms in armed conflict and other situations of violence, in particular those related to the protection of civilians. Geneva Call focuses its efforts on banning the use of anti-personnel mines, protecting children from the effects of armed conflict, prohibiting sexual violence in armed conflict, working towards the elimination of gender discrimination, protecting civilian infrastructure, and ensuring humanitarian access.

## **Core Responsibilities**

**Accounting**

- Maintain daily accounting in accordance with the national legislative requirements of Ukraine, methodological principles of accounting for NGOs and in accordance with corporate policies and donor rules: fixed assets, materials, funds, settlements and other assets, equity and liabilities, income and expenses, accruals, reserves.
- Maintain accounting in 1C and ensure daily updating of cash and banking transactions.
- Reconciliation and control of accounts payable and receivable.
- Timely calculation and payment of taxes to the relevant tax authority, including for additional benefit.
- Interaction with business partners in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation during the supply of goods, performance of work, provision of services. Control over the legal and financial correctness of transactions, making correct and timely payments, financial reconciliation.
- Processing payments at the bank. Communication with the bank, including opening/closing bank accounts, preparing documents, forms and questionaries.

**Financial statements and reporting**

- Ensuring submission of all relevant financial and contractual documentation both in paper and scanned form and stored in digital project files.
- Regular reporting to local authorities (tax, statistics, labor department, etc.) and required stakeholders.
- Preparation and submission of monthly financial reporting package: balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow statement.
- Execution of all financial tasks and providing necessary support for financial close of the month and year within corporate deadlines.

**Compliance with regulatory and legal requirements**

- Ensuring that the organization is up to date/compliant with the most current regulations, in accordance with changes made by the government from time to time.
- Maintaining compliance with the internal control system and national regulations. Tracking the latest changes in Ukrainian labor, tax and accounting legislation.
- Checking contracts, certificates of work performed/acceptance, invoices provided by suppliers.
- Monthly control and monitoring the VAT limit of the Geneva call as a VAT non-payer.

**Personnel**

- Payroll: Ensuring that all payment statements are signed by employees and properly maintained in the payroll operations department.
- Providing calculation of annual leave, daily allowances for business trips.
- Coordination with the HR department of personnel issues and requests in accordance with the Labor Code of Ukraine, internal policies and procedures, including hiring, firing, vacations, sick leave.
- Assistance in drafting orders regarding personnel and operational activities.
- Providing certificates of accrued income upon request of employees.

**Other functions**

- Filing, preparing scanned copies of cash, supporting and banking documents, maintaining a document archiving system in such a way that files are updated, complete and protected.
- Regularly providing information to the Finance Coordinator on the state of finances.
- Assistance with external audit requests for any necessary supporting documentation.
- Maintaining an accurate inventory and providing supporting information from 1C for of all project equipment, indicating location, user, condition and inventory number. Participation in the inventory of assets, funds, settlements, liabilities.
- Managing the process of creating and updating a digital key for the country director in Vchasno, at the bank, and at the tax office.
- Performing any other financial tasks assigned by the Head of Support, Country Director and/or Project Management.

## **Main qualifications**

**Education and experience**

- A university degree in a relevant field (Finance & Accounting).
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience.
- Understanding of the local labor law, tax code.
- Strong planning and organizing skills.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Fluency in English and Ukrainian, written and spoken.
- Experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context preferable.

**Technical skills**

- Strong writing, interpersonal, and research skills.
- Excellent writing and reporting skills.

**Personal skills**

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.

**Languages**

- English (B1-B2)
- Ukrainian
